Japan holiday

Gomenasai, my name is Ken-Sama.

I'm a 27 year old South African Otaku (Anime fan for you gaijins). I draw Anime and Manga on my tablet, and spend my days perfecting my art and playing superior Japanese games. (Disgaea, Final Fantasy, Persona series)

I train with my Katana every day, this superior weapon can cut clean through steel because it is folded over a thousand times, and is vastly superior to any other weapon on earth. I earned my sword license two years ago, and I have been getting better every day.

I speak Japanese fluently, both Kanji and the Osaka dialect, and I write fluently as well. I know everything about Japanese history and their bushido code, which I follow 100%

When I get my Japanese visa, I am moving to Tokyo to attend a prestigious High School to learn more about their magnificent culture. I hope I can become an animator for Studio Ghibli or a game designer!

I own several kimonos, which I wear around town. I want to get used to wearing them before I move to Japan, so I can fit in easier. I bow to my elders and seniors and speak Japanese as often as I can, but rarely does anyone manage to respond.

Been there recently and beers are on average around ¥500. That’s roughly $4 but I guess the Zar/usd wasn’t 18 15 years ago.
You definitely don’t need $100 per day. I mean you can spend that but you won’t have to.

4USD for a beer is very reasonable if you are travelling. In some places in SA you pay close to that for a craft beer on tap.
 
Culturally probably the most beautiful country in the world. Would love to go myself but I'm too poor lol.

Try and learn some basics of the language, it goes a long way. DuoLingo can help with that.

Make sure you take a good power bank and get a good mobile plan. Mobal has a pretty good tourist Sim deal Most people cannot understand or are not confident enough to speak English but you can get along the whole country if you have a good phone and use Google translate when you need to and maps for when you navigate.

Capsule Hotels are quite decent for short stays. JP has probably the best customer service in the world and do not tip. It is seen as rude to do so.

And in JP, you will need to carry cash, especially if you want to get outside the main big cities. Some places still do not accept cards.

Flights will likely be pricy unless you can time it well and get an off-peak return trip for around R15k but JP is not that expensive to travel within, certainly significantly cheaper than most of the West, especially if you budget carefully and do not stay at expensive places or eat at expensive restaurants.

I liked Beppu and Oita and Nagoya. Onsens are great. But I tend to enjoy mountainous areas which is not everyones cup of tea. I did those and the usual big cities Osaka and Tokyo.

I would have loved to have gone to Okinawa but could not do it when I was there sadly. That will have to come next time.

They're a bunch of snob-nosed brats who think that they are superior to everybody else. No wonder USA nuclear-bombed tf out of those savages in WW2.

Not really. US social engineered the place after the war so attitudes are mostly positive towards US and the West They mostly direct their superiority towards other Asians.

US has a lot of power there, some refer to JP as the 52nd state of the US.

Whenever I watched travel shows that interview Japanese people. I am always surprise how bad their teeth are and thats coming from Coloured guy with a missing front tooth.

I was the odd one. In standard 7, the boys decided by themselves to do a show and tell, biggest knife win. Some cool looking knives were on display.

Ek het nie saam gespeel nie.
