Jeep patriot

Ha, old man, it took you long enough to get here :D

I should be seeing you for that XV test drive, I'v been watching Youtube reviews ad nauseum, time to test this baby :)

Don't wait too long!! They have split our sales up from next month, and I have been moved to Alfa/Fiat, and at the moment, it looks as if I will not be allowed to sell across the brands!

Here's a test for you to read. Probably one of the most balanced articles that has been written.

I think Fiat/Alfa is a good place to be right now. They are really stepping it up... How do you feel about this?

I freaked initially, as I was really looking forward to selling Subaru again - however, once the stock arrived and I started climbing all over the cars, I changed my mind, and I'm really excited about it. Obviously it will give me a wider range of cars to sell , starting at a lower price bracket, and the Alfas are orgasmic!! :p We have a couple of MITO's in stock as well as a 159 - bloody beautiful! Two 500 convertibles arrive next week, so I am actually being allowed to kick off with enthusiasts cars, which I was missing at Toyota, where the only exciting car for me was the 86!

There is also some awesome new cars coming from them... Hope we'll be getting the Alfa Giulia, crossover SUV, Spider and Fiat 500X, 500L, new Panda etc.

Not sure which new ones are coming - watch this space! ;)

The 159 will be replaced by the Giulia early next year I think.

Happy day Fazda! Selling REAL cars at last. Just wait till the 4C gets here (if ever).

Without starting a new topic, going to ask a similar question.

Jeep Compass vs Mitsubishi ASX (bottom of range) @ R280k
Jeep Patriot vs Mitsubishi ASX (middle of range) @ R300k

Have driven both the Compass & ASX. The Compass feels underpowered whereas ASX is more livelier.

or, what the hell...

Alfa Guilietta 1.4 Distinctive also @ R300k

Thoughts??

Try the Patriot too... 2.4L and 4x4 compared to the 2.0L and 4x2 in the Compass.

I do plan on testing the Patriot.

Good :)

Guilietta is very nice, but I think you have to decide exactly what you need the car for first. If you never go on bad dirt roads, through mud or sand etc... then definitely go for the Guilietta or similar. You have to then look at it's competitors too. New Astra looks great. Don't know why I don't see more on the roads.

Pity you aren't in Durban as we have now gone multi franchise and I could sell you, Jeep, Alfa or Subaru!! :p

That Guilia render on the new TopCar cover looks awesome. They must build it just like that :p

Hopefully we will see it here early next year - just doing the run out on the 159 at the moment - beautiful cars whatever way you look at them! :D

I do a lot of outdoor sports, so the added space of the Compass/ Patriot would come in handy. I'd be able to fit a bike in the back quite comfortably.

I see that Thule don't even make a footback for the Gulietta.

That Guilia is something else!

I do like the Forrester albeit its out of my price range but the others offer far more value for money.

I'm a Jeep fan, and a big one!, I have had 2 Wranglers, a TJ 2006 4.0l inline 6 auto and a i now have a JK Rubicon 2010 2dr 3.8V6 manual.
someone here said american cars are crap? Crap in what way ? crap cus you dont like americans ? LOL my JK will whip any other Jap 4x4 out there, No ranger no toyota,(Mybe a cruiser, not the FJ) will come near a Rubicon on an offroad trail, the closes would be a Defender. these 4wd "cars" like Hyundai , sportage, ect ect are not 4x4's so they are not in the picture, when talking 4x4

But, even though i'm a Jeep fan and Jeep's Rep for 4x4 wheeling is great (Look at the program called One Car too far) the patriot, unfortunately is not a Range Rover or Land Rove Discovery , the disco, goes where you wouldn't expect, and it also have some nice "Technology" and comfort. i would go for one of the rovers
