Anyone out there know when MTN planning on making the Jelly Bean update available for the Samsung S3's?? I've just been made aware that Vodacom have released the update already

Double check the version number??

People have reported getting updates - but its not for JB. Read the thread I posted a link to.
 
I got an OTA update on a vodacom a few days back too ... But wasn't JB.

Still 4.04 after the update

Probably sometime next year. You could wait or just do what most others have done and get one of the overseas JB releases. I'm currently using Omega Rom on my S3 which you can get from the XDA Developers forum.
 
Check out sammobile for the firmware if the update on the S3 says you have to wait in a queue.
 
I updated mine with the Egypt ROM and now I cannot get updates via Kies due to the CSC code being wrong. If I change the CSC code and factory reset, will I be able to restore a backup that I have done via Kies?
 
Why are you all still recommending the Polish and Egyptian version when the SA unbranded and Vodacom versions are out on Sammobile?

Should I flash with the SA unbranded version then?
 
Apologies, just noticed now that many of those recommendations are old.

I am on the UK version and also wondered about upgrading to the SA version but see no benefit. It is actually an older version number too.
 
Since 01:00 this morning when I started checking again, I'm still getting the "Try again" fail message when updating from my handset directly, instead of the "No updates" message I used to get previously. Is there such a demand on the servers that 14+ hours later it still says I should try again later? :( Kies is such a disaster, I'm avoiding it for now...
 
Why it takes so loooooong for me jellybean!!!! Upgrade a couple of thousand devices and the servers can't handle it???
