JHB - M1 shootout

This is how it will play out in court:

Please note that the guy who was doing the shooting escaped from the entire gauteng police force. The poor driver, (my client ) who was forced by the guy to drive at gunpoint started running away as soon as he was let go by the armed individual

The police, acting in their standard operating procedure of 'shoot first, ask questions later' , instead of coming to the assistance of my terrified and traumatised client decided to bust a cap in his ass. He is now suffering from post traumatic stress, drivofobia and has a debilitating injury. You owe us big time!

Mr driver, pls pm me I will represent for a cut of the winnings ;)

So the occupants of the taxi try to shoot at a helicopter?

How stupid can you be. I would have riddled the vehicle with bullets if I was in that chopper. Having a look at the images, it seems that's exactly what the chopper did. :D

Cops catching crooks is so rare these days it actually makes the news.

I just wonder how they tell the diffs between the goodies and the baddies since they all wear the same uniform.

For anyone who doubts the ability of the guys in those choppers, you really need to see them in action.

They're shyte hot. Saw them a few years ago in Umhlanga... random shots being fired from the ground... chopper circled in... guys dropped from the chopper while a few guys gave cover... a few double taps and everything was over.

Definitely shoot from the chopper. Been there, done that.. These okes are crazy accurate from the helis. Have a couple of mates flying for the SAPS.

Nice attempt.

Cops catch baddies all the time. This made news because it was a major incident. It would make news anywhere in the world.

Yeah. Just had to get my oar in and bemoan the sad state of the State these days. The good cops are real heroes in my eyes. They deserve all the support we can give 'em. Such a pity that 90% of their colleagues are such moegoes.

I'm overlooking the highway from Parktown and it's been at a standstill all day. Sitting in that mess cannot be pleasant for those poor bastids.

For me it was a breeze getting home. Use the M1 south out of the Joburg CBD. Virtually no traffic there.

But for the first 1km I was negotiating 5 traffic lights that have been out longer than I care to remember. (Harrison & President has been out over three weeks now.) JMPD mostly manning lights that were working instead of those that were out. But this is their usual m.o.

I took St. Andrews all the way yo the M1, drove 10km South, got on the N1 and drove to William Nicol from there. 40km but it only took me 30min.

I got on the M1 North from Houghton Drive and drove past the mess of traffic on the other side of the highway. I felt a lil' bad when I saw people joining the back of the queue...Little did they know how long that queue really was >.<

Seems like a lot of fuss for what started out as a commotion at a Pretoria taxi rank...??

Same thing I thought.
But 90% of them probably arrived after everything was done hoping to get a free KFC lunch for their "hard work".

Metro prefer Nando's. They're always all at the one in Lambton, Germiston at lunchtime. The station is conveniently situated down the road. I see literally over a dozen police vehicles outside the store everyday, their occupants spending their hard-earned bribe money inside.

The taxi driver fled when the cops approached - so a high speed chase ensued, which ended up in the taxi shooting at the cops.

I wouldn't call it a lot of fuss.

That much man-power, firing from a helicopter in a densely crowded built up area, closing down a major highway for five or so hours? This sounds bigger than some suspected taxi violence.
