Hey guys,

Has any of you been to the show? I went yesterday and it was AWESOME!!! I will load some pics tomorrow...

The only complaint that I have is that there is no Ferrari, Lambo, Koenigsegg or Porsche stands... (Maybe I just missed them, but sure I wouldhv seen that). The new Evoque is stunning!!

Also, Farlig, I saw the new Civic on display and I have changed my mind again. It is butt ugly!!! Really cannot believe what they did to the rear light cluster. It looks aweful!!

New M5 is stunning, but I preffer the 1M :) Nice new Jags, Kias, Audis and even a good looking Merc concept... :)

Even Toyota came to the party with their new FT-86 concept.. Damn I hope they bring that car here, it is stunning!!!

So all in all it was a good show, just a bit dissapointed that they did not have any exotic names there.

Went on Saturday before Coldplay -
Also was dissapointed not seeing any Lambo's etc. but good either way
Wish i went during the week as Saturday was choas, didnt get to sit in many cars cause it was so full

Went on Sunday. Thought it was crap. No supercar stands either e.g. Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bently, Rolls Royce, Maserati, Porsche etc (some of those cars were on show at the Daytona stand).

If you keen on seeing any of those cars, dont bother going. Otherwise stand on a street corner, you will see the rest.

Especially all the concept cars, they're a dime a dozen on the roads of Joburg... :wtf:

Seeing Asimo run reminded me of a robotic Cylon running. That's the reason Honda made it only 122cm tall :)

Went on Saturday, ya wasn't as good as previous JIMS. My favs = new VW Beetle and SLS AMG Roadster. All those people bringing babies and young children to the show really annoyed me, couldn't really sit in any of the cars because there was always a kid jumping on the seat.

If you enjoy looking at concept cars, go wild at JIMS.

I think they are a waste of time. They might as well also be showing cars which could potentially fly - they dont!

Was the best thing Honda had at the show, quite disappointing.

... but what did you expect exactly?

Looks like you're unhappy with the concepts and the new models from normal makers?

My favs = new VW Beetle.

I also think they did a great job with the new Beetle, looks stunning. The interior is awesome..

@DefecteD - I went on a weekend before and that's why I went in the week. Just too busy over a weekend!!!

I don't think those cars will see the market, however certain trends are definitely going to soon become a part of our every day driving experience. I especially noticed the lack of side view mirrors, replaced by cameras and the complete absence of door handles.

And for those of you looking for a bit of excitement, go take a spin with a driver around the Toyota track. Awesome!

Maybe direct him to supercar day at Kyalami instead? Though he seems equally unimpressed with the McLaren and the GT-R so I doubt it'll be that exciting.

I normaly go in the week, but thought we would kill to birds with 1 stone, coldplay and jims

Thoughts on the mattish silver paint job on the merc sls roadster? Thought it looked awesome. Evidently going to be a R50k option on mercs..

Really wanted to go this year, but both weekend it runs is / was fully booked. Considered going during the week, but I have 2 large projects going live on 1 November, so work pressure isn't permitting any time off. My absence from the forums is testament to that. :)
