This work-from-home thing is actually a huge benefit.
Let's do a quick calculation:
When I was in Gauteng, I travelled 40km to work (80km round trip). That's roughly 1700km per month.
At R3 per km (based of AA for a Suzuki Swift, your cost may be more if you have a fancier car), that's R5100 off your NET salary that you save.
Now let's factor in the income tax (I'm not sure about exact figures, I suppose anywhere from 25% to 38%? I'm gonna guestimate 30% for this general salary bracket), you're effectively "earning" almost R7300 more than the gross salary shown on your salary slip.
Then consider the 1~2 hours (or more?) you'll likely be spending on the road everyday, that you suddenly have free. More time with the family, e.g. drop the kids off in the morning, do some admin-related stuff/shopping/whatever, be home for the kids after school, etc etc.
Oh, and of course, time is money
That R22k~R26k pm + work from home is, in fact, quite a good offer for a mere minimum of 2 years of experience.
Of course, you have to also be disciplined enough to actually work your full hours from home.
