Joburg tackling its billing problems

I don't ever recall the precidency having to visit Joburg or any other muni to see that they do their fscking jobs before the ANC took over.

Awfully nice of them. Its almost like they're doing the citizens of JHB a favour...

Nothing done to fix this.

“Unfortunately we arrived when the system is down… We spoke to a customer who said the usual waiting period is 15 minutes. We call on Joburg residents to raise their problems, but they should also pay for services.”

This country must vote the cANCer out. Zim 2.0 is going gold.

Anything for a free lunch ... :)

Bapela, who attended the briefing, said residents had been calling the presidency’s hotline about their billing problems in the city.

Now I ask you where do these people live that they are so uninformed as to what's going on in their own country? Too much of the champagne parties and 2 hour KFC lunches/meetings I reckon.

My mom went to sort out some stuff with the meters as we've switched to pre-paid.
I don't recall when but she realised that the bill we got was NOT what she had paid, someone else's money had somehow found its way into our account (I think R9000+-) and our bill was around R1500...

She told the people at the place about this and they said that "it's fine" and that they won't do anything until the original person comes to sort this out. Can they not back trace where that money came from?!
So some family could've been (probably were) cut off because their 9 grand bill "wasn't paid" ffs.

So good luck to them to sort out 66000 queries... If they had sorted them out promptly in the first place, this wouldn't be an issue now.

My house is still being billed... even though we moved over to pre-paid over 1/2 a year ago :wtf:
Almost the same here. I moved over to prepaid in September and they continued billing me (interim reading) until December. It took them over a month to "fix" the problem, or so they say. I am not sure, because I haven't received a statement since November. They claim that everything has been reversed.

For all I know, the incompetent idiots are still billing me - stealing my money.

There was some credit left in my account before this @$#$-up and I know I will probably never see it again.

Jo'burg, a world class African city.
