Jose sacked

I think he lost the dressing room when he let Eva go. If you have a beautiful woman massage your hurt legs and she gets fired, what would you do ?

Honestly, I believe Mourinho is a big proud arse and he is better than that, I wonder what his plan was. To get Abramovic back for letting Cech go to Arsenal, or is it to go to United ?

His not dom, definitely up to something.

Why on earth it them so long to fire?

Now that I think about the board were probably waiting for him to quit but he never did.

Can he be considered a true great if he can't last more than 3 seasons at a club?

There are various theories going around...

it's as close to the source as you like to get with a direct quote. ( re: losing the dressing room)

the eva bit - yeah, that's a theory...

Yeah. I meant I wonder how he lost the dressing room. Was it the Eva situation or maybe when he subbed John Terry at the end of the first half against City? Those were the two stand out things for me.

I'll counter with:

I don't understand the loosing the dressing room part. You getting paid 6 figures weekly, you hate the manager, so you play badly on purpose?

Not on purpose, just at like 95% and that 5% is the difference in pro sports.

Yep, it's the small things like backing out of 50/50 challenges, faking minor injuries, playing narrow ball instead of playing wide per the manager's instructions, playing the ball square instead of going forward, etc. etc.

A negative vibe destroys any team!

Most of those sound intentional to me.

Don't think Jose is the problem to be honest...
Yep, them players have not been carrying their weight this season.
I wholeheartedly agree with all of you.

Easier to sack one man than to overhaul the squad I guess.
Doesnt have to be that way. Most players are still good enough.

Truth be told, it was time for Terry&Ivanovic to go. Splash the cash for Stones. Stop playing Azpilicuta in his unnatural position. Willian&Oscar never lived up to their billing, and it made sense for Jose to sell them and get a couple of quality Englishmen (e.g. Barkley) to fill the requirements. Costa is a cancer and has to go. He makes wtching football ugly for me. A year or two from Zlatan would have given them time to find a lethal long term striker in the mould of Drogba without the agents pushing for a high value sale due to Chelsea desperation.

Courtois
Azpilicueta, Stones, Zouma, ???
Ramirez(c), Matic
Pedro, Cesc, Hazard
Zlatan

Chelse bought well under Mourinho. Sold Mata, Felipe Luiz (mistake in my view), Luiz, Lukaku(another mistake) etc, and bought Costa, Pedor etc on the cheap. So they can afford to buy big.

Absolutely. I can imagine that dressing room is exactly like how it was for United under Moyes, and lately under van Gaal, except a lot of the players are still new (Martial, Depay etc), many don't have settled positions, so at least they can push a bit for draws, but that negative vibe still manages to see them fail to get out of such an average UCL group.
