I disagree, i grew up in an afrikaans town as a "soutie" and experienced a lot of intentional racism directed at black people, in fact many black people were surprised i even chatted to them :D

Kameeldrift is definitely one of them. He should be glad this happened in Kameeldrift East and Not Kameeldrift West.

Might never have been heard from again...

Must say though, the guys were likely cruizing and that is not a good idea at night in any farm or plot area. Number 1 suspicion all us maplotters get is scoping to rob or looking for a victim, cause that is what it usually ends up being.

Only most of us call the cops and they search the car.

There are farmers out there which feels that the police is not helping, now many are taking the law into their own hands and many action groups have been established.

The other day one group turned in 6 home invaders to the police, it didn’t make the news. I think this was in the Free State. The action groups are like neighbourhood watch for farms.

Know the story,

we kinda fought the cops into working with us. They got one to many okes beaten and bloody dropped off on their front door when they do not respond in time.

No cop to witness so always self defence and always plenty witnesses to that effect.

LOL, went to get pizza last night, went to a local pub and saw they had "Draught" on special so ordered a glass.

Saw the guy putting ice in the glass, asked him, "wtf? beer with ice?"

Told me no it's a brandy and coke draught.

And it was, Freaking Brandy and coke on tap!

Let's just say I was stumped...

yea that was pretty much my look when brandy and coke came out of a draught dispenser...

The stuff is called "Brannas Draught" I should have caught on with the name...

Was quite a nice brandy and coke (as such things go, I am generally a beer man) will say that much for it.

I cannot defend a drunk racist afrikaaner but if i may i would like to defend the brandy , the brandy did not make him a violent racist , he was already a violent racist the brandy just made him lose control.

Brandy makes me a happy person.

That is such bull****. Even if the newsman tried to hijack him or kill him, what is the point of hurling racial remarks at the newsman. Yes call him an effing criminal, a tsotsi, a killer, whatever... to what point.

Clearly the hyundai bakkie driver was more offended by his colour than his actions.

Me too. I suspect it just brings out the inner you. And unfortunately for many in these sorts of areas, that means racist, violent as***le

Exactly, as with the article.

It can be improved with implementations like the action groups which work with the local police, local municipality etc. But the body which controls the police needs to cater to these communities in order to protect any and all people in the designated territories. It is simple to say, people don’t trust the police and neither the body which steers them, people don't even know who is in charge.

We even witnessed the dompas system return to a community in Worcester, pass laws implemented by the community and regulated by the police without approval. Currently both the DA and ANC is playing the blame game here and both have publically protested against this community established pass law.

Something have to be done by the national government.
 
Hey, I lived in Kameeldrif East for quite some time!
Have a good idea of who the ou could've been... :whistle:

Long story short, there are a few places where black guys hang out (no not shebeens...), two being Kieviets Kroon and a place called 'Fish Eagle Lodge' (IIRC) owned by an Ugandan gent. People always get lost looking for those places, especially Kieviets Kroon.
Many functions go till the wee hours of the morning, so the guys might have dropped someone off and on the way back got lost, who knows...

What I do know, the white okes that live in Kameeldrif East are very rof.

It doesn't matter what the BMW driver was doing there. It's a public road. There are no public areas that anyone should have a reason for being in at night.
