Hi all,

Just in case anyone is interested we have a Jozi Linux User Group up and running that meets once a month in Randburg, Johannesburg, usually Bright Water Commons at Scrooges Diner. We get about 10-12 people at each meetup and growing :).

If anyone is keen to give a talk or presentation at the meetup please let us know. (Obviously no marketing stuff just FOSS.) You don't need to be an expert to attend just keen on learning more and helping build a community :) More info can be found at:

We also planning to participate in Software Freedom Day this year in September and there are people keen to help roll out computer labs at schools, so that is in the process of being organised.

Cheers

I'll give a talk on why unity should die a slow and painful death!
:D

Great to see that there are still LUGs around. Strongs, and may you go from strength to strength!

Well we could have a distro shootout - of course things would have to remain civil and all weapons handed in at the bar.

Thanks Nic777! The team is trying to source old PCs at the moment. Will introduce you to the team if you come to any meetup. Btw all the Jozi Lug is sponsored by LPI Southern Africa
