June Telkom Internet Capped Users

maybe I shall give you an example: I have done 5.2 GB and not capped yet, standard 3 GB account.
 
pupa, if you are capped, I think you either won't connect at all, or if you connect you won't be able to browse any sites (except the telkom site maybe), I am unsure as this is the first time I got a telkom account, so I never been capped on a telkom account myself ...

if you can browse some internation sites normally, my guess will be that you are not capped. It is unlikely to get capped at just over 3 GB anyway.

I think telkom is the one that should be hiding in the bushes, in any normal country they will be brought to court for offering product with such undefined and highly variable parameters, hereby forcing people to resort into guesstimating "what if ..."!

Well If I switch the sat link off, I cannot even get to MyADSL via Telkom Internet but i COULD GOOgle but not link to any site?????? Now I am running again over the sat at 42-55 KBps download on 512 ADSL uplink. If I switch the SAT off it drops to 0-10 KBps. Maybe the IP stack is corrupt, cannot remember how to kill it! Or This MSoft Xp is a ball of shiit!

hehe I normally manage around 7-8 gigs internationally because I use it up at the beginning of the month when there's less people who are capped. But then again there's nothing international that can't be found locally ;)

I knew I should have raped the account that last day :(

I get 4GB a day easy so only doing 500MB was a waste.

Got capped on 9.1GB BTW

so far it seems that the bottom is about 8 gigs, I will try to keep under that for the rest of the month and see if I survive ...

damn, 16th of June and there are about 3 people capped so far ... telkom must be spilling gigs like mad :D
 
My 2c worth : Just like the 192k speeds were close to 384k speeds, then dropped, now the two are merged and fast again... Telkom will all of a sudden say they are moving up the cap to 10gig for the same price - when the actual fact is - you get approx 10 - 18gigs out of the 3gig account anyway!. Lets wait and see : )

My first account is allready capped at around 17gigs i guess - can't see atm.

The second Account - have no idea, pc crashed and bloody telkom is draging feet on giving me my details without resetting the passwords.

hi LabAnimal, can you post about when (what date) your first account was capped, id you don't mind? thanks for sharing!

your teory for the 3GB->10GB, don't want to sound pesimistic, but I don't think it will happen, at least not soon. Remeber that only telkominternet is the one that offers "you buy 3GB you get no one knows what". If they officially start offering 10GB for the current price of 3GB, they will have to drop their wholesale price, which I don't see it happening ... hope I am wrong!

On average when i was on 192k i always got capped around the 10th or 11th with around 18 - 20gig at most (once or twice 22gig) Since i upgraded to 384k, i only once got capped at the 5th, but since again on the 10th of every month and also around 18gig odd. I can only confirm this when the account is back on.
