I been using an S4 for a while now and after getting fed up with all the bloat I decided to load a custom rom.
After doing some research I decided to load Cyanogen 11

Well I should have done this a long time ago!
What a difference to the stock rom, now I understand the difference is like chalk and cheese :D

The performance is so much better aswell.

Is anyone else using CM11 , or suggest another rom I could try later ?

I'd love to flash my S4 to get rid of all the useless bloatware. In saying that, I remember reading somewhere that you can't reset the flash counter on the i9500 and so you're effectively losing your warranty. Has this changed?

If so, can someone point me in the right direction for my first android flash quest?

Create a nandroid rom image of your stock rom first, you will need to install ClockWorkMod Recovery with Odin and save your backup to an sdcard. Then if needed you can always revert back to your stock rom by restoring it. Correct me if I am wrong here, but thats how I have done it, and what others have advised..

Cool thanks, will look into this!

Flashed my S3 to cm11 and its like a new phone. I am using the idiot friendly just load the app to flash version.

Enjoy man, nothing beats stock Android!

How about stock Android minus bloatware?

I was running CM11, but I had some battery problems, mine didnt even last a day.

Im back to Omega v22 now, and the battery life is amazing!

Interesting, I will see how CM11 goes and take it from there.
The installer didnt work for me so i flashed it manually through recovery..
Working well so far today :D

Loaded a Cyanogen ROM once. It wasn't a pleasant experience for me. Post some screen shots?

I prefer to make use of Samsung's features and superior camera than pure AOSP. Pure AOSP seems to come with many bugs. No thanks.

As much as I love this rom. the bluetooth doesnt work correctly and the call history is always blank.
This is vital, can you reccommend a better Rom perhaps?

Or am i better off with stock?

I prefer using Omega. It's Samsung but you can decide which apps you want when you install, so you can remove all bloatware.
