Just flashed S4 to CM11!

I prefer to make use of Samsung's features and superior camera than pure AOSP. Pure AOSP seems to come with many bugs. No thanks.
This man speaks the truth.

I've had dozens of different AOSP roms on my S4 and I'm back on the stock (albeit Indian Black Edition) rom.

I understand yeah.. they just too buggy... Could you provide me with a download link for your rom ?

thanks, will check it out...
Just a pity these other custom roms have bugs, otherwise they would be perfect.

As much as I love this rom. the bluetooth doesnt work correctly and the call history is always blank.
This is vital, can you reccommend a better Rom perhaps?

Or am i better off with stock?
Well, the S4 CM11 rom is currently in nightly release which means it is not 100% stable and still contains bugs. I would suggest checking the xda developers forum if you want a look at other roms.

I'm currently running CM11 on my S3 mini and I must say I've never looked back. The performance and battery life cannot be compared to the stock rom.

I will wait for a more stable release.. Right now I am back on stock with no problems.

I needed bluetooth working and call history which both gave errors..
Besides those errors the rom was excellent and fast :D

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

Had CM11 on my S4 for 2 weeks, deleted and rather installed Omega Rom because the stock android camera SUCKS compared to the TouchWiz camera.

Battery life is also amazing on Omega Rom.

Hmmm interesting..
A few things.

Is your Omega ROM a stable release?
Does your bluetooth work correctly?
Does the call logs work?

If so I will give it a try :D

The omega installer is quite nifty giving the options of what you choose to install.. very nice so far :)

Omega FTW.

100% stable. And all the features work.

Been running it on my s4 since the early versions, going to flash to v23 over the weekend.

Definately more stable than CM11 mightly..
Although I would like to try a stable release of CM11 when it comes out.

Nothing beats pure nexus rom (Google edition). I9505 only.
I started playing with custom Roms back when the S3 was launched. Touchwiz makes me want to spew in my mouth... Hehehe. So I had serious incentive to get a working AOSP rom for my S3. I learned at the time that the version of the S3 that we get over here comes with the Samsung developed Exynos processor, this is an in house closed source SOC and therefore there are no drivers or source code available to the CM team and they had to hack and improvise a working system. The same is true on the i9500 that 95% of South Africans own. The LTE version of the S4 or i9505 runs a Qualcomm based Snapdragon SOC that comes with open source drivers and this is why i9505 Roms are so much better that i9500 Roms. I bought the Snapdragon based Note 4, and CM on my phone is rock solid, fast and has battery life probably 30% better than stock.

In short, if you have an Exynos based Sammy, and you want to run CM, you are going to have a bad time.

Is there a STEP BY STEP on how to flash it to OMEGA? I'm keen to give it a try.

And YES, I've never done this before on my S4.
