Just got mugged.

I also had an attempted mugging from two 17 year olds outside the KFC in the CBD... they tried to look like a stranded couple but I noticed the knife in his hand.
That area around KFC is unsafe. Is that the one that is now closed and replaced by some other thing (SUB?). I also saw a decently dressed woman pretending to need some money for something. I just shut her down very quickly before she even tried to approach.

Did she want petrol money to Milnerton? Man, she has approached me as well. She must make a living out of it :o

SA is becoming too violent nowdays. Just yesterday these white dudes asked me "do you have a light ma bru" I said no but they actually wanted to check my person. I was alone at the time but my friend was in the shop. One of these surfer dudes grabbed my phone from me but my friend came just in time. We chased him down and f'd him up, heavily too. His dudes just walked on, lol.

I thought Skinner said Capre Town was "safe" ?

...Seems not. But then again, we all knew that.

If only he'd pull his pants up and give his mouth a chance.

Dogmeat, glad to hear you're Ok, and best of luck with your move.
I'm in the UK now, and this would not be my first choice of county to emigrate to, but it LOADS better than what SA is becoming/become.

My brother was leaving a friend's complex and as he drove out someone attempted to pull him out of his partially open driver's window. This caused him to prang and so he couldn't drive away. He was finally pulled out of the car where some previously disadvantaged individual demanded his phone and wallet (would've been the car had it been drivable). My brother isn't a large guy (about 70kg) so it came as a huge shock to the criminal when my boet's response was to deliver a sharp crack to said criminal's jawbone. This dropped him and so out of the sheer adrenaline rush my boet then proceeded to beat the crap out of the guy who turned out to be a gutless POS now that he'd lost the upper hand. Next thing my brother described is seeing stars and suddenly being on his knees (currently advantaged no.2 had meanwhile emerged from the shadows and hit him in the back of the head with something). He rolled onto his back just in time to see no.2 wielding a large block of cement to issue the killing blow but was lucky enough to move out of the way just before it thudded into the ground where he lay. This was where 'fight' ended and 'flight' started. He ran and was chased but managed to make it to an adjacent complex (where he cleared the spike-topped wall nogal) and got into a resident's garden where he called the cops.

So, in the end they got nothing but he is very lucky to be alive. It's a tough decision whether to fight or not. you have to be realistic but personally I agree with HenryJ. It's all we have left...nobody's going to do it for us.

That is exactly the problem right there. Even though you might only see one or two of them, it's quite likely that there are another 3 in the bush so to speak.

It's ****ing crazy. You think you're prepared until it happens then you're just like what the **** is going on? I think they were 4 of them probably my age or there abouts. Before I knew it they had disappeared with my wallet and phone.

This was by the castle in town. :/

You'll be suprised to know just how often people get robbed there. I was at tech there and alot of my friends got robbed . I knew one girl who got robbed three times in that area. It's pathetic really.

Dude. an e-mail wont help. They know about the problem. At one point students were getting robbed on a daily basis. The did up the security but people still get robbed.
I don't know how things are now but when i was studying there last year the problem was still bad.

A e-mail might... at least you're doing something instead of posting here.

Here, all you can do is VENT.
Try do something OTHER than just venting!
