Just got my

I have a small graphic design company and my people are tech hungry (3d animation) so i get to "test" a lot of different configurations.

As for the board i saw in a couple of reviews they managed 4gig on air with this board so shall just have to wait and see :)

Just need to get used to all the new settings or should i rather say the lack of all the old settings :p
 
Okie one cmos clear later, i think i am getting the hang of it (only 2.8 at the moment but i think i know what i was doing wrong)

lol this will not be my main rig, going to be used as part of a render farm :)

p.s. temps idle 50's at the moment so need to sort that out quickly
 
lol i only went with 3gigs of ram so not to bad :)

Had to do some real work for a change so now back to ocing though temps are worrying need to get decent cooling
 
Okie at 3gig now at 1.1 volts idle temps in mid 40's so need to find the way to bump up the coolers fan speed :)

I know the Core I7 cpu's are bigger and uses another socket 1366, but can't you make a socket 775 cooler fit?

Maybe...their bases are usually over-sized. But are the holes in the same place for the cooler on the MB...?
 
Nope, if you look at one of the pics i posted you can see the i7 cooler is much broader so the present mounting mechanisms will not fit at all. There is apparently a ThermalRight cooler out but not in S.A. yet as far as i know

Holes are wider apart
 
Yea my biggest problem with this is my 2.5k water cooling system is obsolete so unless they bring out some clips for my water cooling i won't upgrade for xmas.

Very poor form from the guys who make cooling products not have brought out something when this launched, they would have made a fortune :)

Up to 3.2 now, bumped up fan speed all cores idling at 40

This board is a real pain when trying to recover from an oc error, have had to remove the battery a couple of times so far.

lol 06 took all cores up to 64 so priming will kill it :)

OUCH 2 mins of prime and it was up to 74deg heehee stock cooler sucks
