Get mail from other accounts

Now Gmail can check for the mail you receive at your other email accounts. You can retrieve your mail (new and old) from up to five other email accounts and have them all in Gmail. Then you can even create a Customized 'From' address which lets you send messages from Gmail, but have them look like they were sent from another one of your email accounts. Please note that you can only retrieve mail from accounts that have POP3 access enabled.

This feature is currently only enabled for a limited number of users. We're working on making it more available soon. Look for it in the 'Accounts' tab in Settings.

I've checked my Gmail account and it works

I guess mine hasnt been activated yet. :(

Also don't have an option|setting to retrieve emails from other pop3|IMAP accounts...

Um, I've had this for ages from my gmail, so what am I missing here?

Well the "Send mail as" thing has been there quite awhile [i.e. sending email from gmail and making it look like you're sending from another account] .

I don't have the "retreive email from other accounts" setting yet though.

errrmmm....i have been doing this for a while now.
This or the sending of email using the details of another account (which still reveals your gmail addy anyway :()? I thought the 5 account integration was a new feature.

errmmm, I set gmail up to get my hotmail messages in like December last year and also from a personal email adress that I usually use out look to retrieve. My friends have been doing this for a while now to. Maybe I am being an idiot though and dont truly understand this topic :p lol

Now that I think about it, this makes little difference to me. I've had all my accounts set to auto-forward to my gmail since day one anyway. I'm sure it will benefit quite a few ppl though.

One account that doesn't have autoforward is telkomsa. Now why doesn't this surprise me? The same account fillls up a spam folder and the procedes to block incomings, so telkomsa users would certainly benefit.

My yahoo hellkom and antitrust email all comes into one email inbox: my gmail account ([email protected]).
And you set that up, yourself, all from within gmail? I'm impressed.

Not bad for a chick. :p

BTW - was xxx@gmail already taken? :D
