I've tried to find out more about the K3715 3G modem USB stick supplied by Vodacom on contract but after searching couldn't find much about it.

What I would like to know is if I go up into Africa where 3G or GPRS is available then I would like to stick in a local sim card because of cheaper rates.

Will my K3715 work with other sim cards or will it be network locked. Also would one need to download generic software for it when using it with different kinds of networks and where would one download this software for the K3715.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Any Vodacom supplied modems/handset are NOT network locked.

But you would most likely have to get generic software.

Thanks Iam3G.

I don't know if I'm looking in the wrong places but I can't seem to find the software for the specific model like one can get for the E220.

Hi

Ginggs software should work for your modem try asking him, before leaving please test an MTN sim in the device to make sure its not network locked.
