Hello again.
Split this off from previous thread : http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/466511-Win7-dns-corruption-Any-clues
Troubleshooting reveals is not DSN corruption as suggested by 111 but appears more to be hardware related - potentially overheating.
I am looking for clues as to :-
1. Anyone else having overheating issues with this modem - anyone NOT having issues ?
2. How to restart Win7 networking without having to reboot ?
When the device turns off, I can close VMB software, disconnect USB modem, pause, reconnect USB, restart VMB software etc.
However, despite being able to connect VMB software and seeing some initial outbound traffic - there is no real connection . . . no inbound traffic, no browsing, ping to vodacom.co.za gives not found timeout and ping of direct IP gives "general network failure".
