K3S vs K8S

Hi guys

Ok so busy planning out a cluster.

Will be hosted on Proxmox.

Who's done this... what does your stack look like, what OS, did you go K3S vs K8s and why.
did you resent each node host with 1 IP or did you split it onto separate subnets, public access and private backplane. did you split your IO over IP off onto a 3rd subnet ?

Big difference between K3S and K8S, what do you plan on hosting?

K3S is more for lightweight stuff and K8S is for heavy duty applications

it's to be dev environment instead of on docker via docker-compose on laptop.

@georgelza Have you made any progress?

I have many a clusters, dev, stg, prod and testing. Using both k3s and rke2 and Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04 LTS.
I am curious as to what you are doing for PV and PVCs.

Actually just now busy with the PV and PVCs.
I have a CEPH layer on the Proxmox cluster... will be configuring a rook based CSI driver in the K8S cluster to provide storage.
will share the links i will be following tomorrow.
ended building mine on 22.04.
