I ordered this promotion item:

http://www.kalahari.com/Electronics/Asus-Memo-Pad-FHD-10-Tablet_p_49092267, which is listed as including a complementary tablet cover plus 500mb monthly data bundle, valid until June 2015. Of course the parcel arrived without either of the complementary items. The feedback I got from the helpdesk agent was that I need to return the parcel, which can take 14 days to resolve.

Call them again, speak to somebody else, speak to a manager/supervisor. It'll be cheaper for them to send the accessories on their own without having to arrange a pickup for return and then a re-delivery. You can do it!

Where is the after sales support and service? I would push them to make it happen ASAP.

Nice deal though. Pity you have to send the whole lot back. maybe call them up (management) and explain.

I don't buy from Kalahari anymore because they are useless, my wife recently made the mistake of ordering a text book from them. When it arrived there were fatty food stains on some of the pages.

They wanted her to wait up to 8 weeks for a replacement , took it up through management and they all said we must return and wait up to 8 weeks. I suggested they just give a voucher for the inconvenience and they rejected that idea. They already had lost me as a customer, now my wife too. What a joke.

Please also submit your feedback to their feedback or suggestion box if they have this on their site. Most sites can appreciate constructive feedback for them to improve on their service.

Even thought they have and have had some items listed that are cheaper than anywhere else by quite a margin, I buy elsewhere.

Example, I paid R300 more for a Wii U console recently from Makro rather than take the risk. They also had pro controllers listed at half price as well, a saving of over R300 EACH, and I simply went without and will wait to buy them at a decent price somewhere else.

No way Kalahari. Never again, not worth the risk or the heartache.

Takealot.com is years ahead of Kalahari.com

That company is slipping into irrelevance. It is amazing to me that Nasper's share price is increasing when they are closing down internet conglomerates left and right while losing market share in Kalahari.com

No innovation at Kalahari nor Naspers. Sad really that we don't have any CEOs in SA that can innovate like Google, Amazon, etc.

Then again, they likely won't hang around here

Update time..

I've just been informed that the missing items have arrived at the CPT warehouse and will be shipped to me! :)

All it took was a daily email requesting feedback on my query.

i just popped in here to say that karl ahari is beginning to P ! $ s me off  why would they think people will like these types of adverts ?

It's not their South African internet operations which are generating fists of cash...

no its basically impossible to get the data to work.

The sim cards are contract sim cards that tarsus pays for , but they did not allow data connection on the sim card yet. ( only tarsus can activate it)

Guy at shop showed me the data is loaded on it and the sim card is active .

Only way to stop the constant fail is to detach yourself from it. It is that simple.

From personal experience i can tell you that if something goes wrong it is VERY difficult to get your money back. They have lost a couple of good customers in my family through very bad customer service.

The missus hasn't been to a Voda shop yet to activate, so now my curiosity is highly piqued. Something tells me that this will be another total mess. As Necuno said... total Kalahari detachment, here we come...

edit: As stated, Vodacom require a document from the business in question in order to activate the bundles. Anyone who bought the Memopad from Kalahari, expecting the advertised 500Mb data pack, may have done so under an incorrect impresssion.

Does the CPA have anything covering these situations?

I've tried reverting the data bundle problem to Kalahari. Their repeated reply is that the SIM has been RICA'd. We have therefore not been able to use the included data pack which we purchased. Has anyone else managed to use theirs?
