Kalahari support site hacked

Someone forgot to update their wordpress site. Happened to my cousin as well running an older version

... and this is why I would avoid Wordpress at all costs.

My office's Wordpress was also hacked, due to not continuously applying security fixes.

You can harden Wordpress and VBulletin. We use both for blogs and discussions, but run it in chrooted environments in complete isolation to anything else. SEO spam is quite common, especially if you run plugins (VBSeo for VBulletin was one such commercial plugin).

But TBH, I would have never used Wordpress as a customer support tool and rather relied on a commercial offering such as Zendesk, Kayako etc.
