Team? What team? You mean Kallis?? Oh....?? You talking about the other 10 people wearing the green and gold.... Nah man, they just there to make up the quotas, carry the drinks and toss the ball to Kallis when he's batting, fielding, bowling and keeping wicket...

Biff has looked all at sea for too long now. But then the rest of the team just looked flat and without an obvious game plan. Instead of dictating the terms to the opposition, it feels like they allowed the opposition to dictate terms :(

Maybe it would be time to open again the debate on the 20/20 team captain? Biff still holds his own on Test cricket, but in 20/20 perhaps a guy like Johan Botha should be considered as permanent team captain? He'd get my vote.
 
Get rid of Smithers, Kallis and the worst Wicket keeper batsmen in international cricket Boucher! AB has to take the gloves or get kicked out aswell! And find and develop a specialist spinner dammit!

Kallis, 3rd most runs so far in series. Next SA batsmen AB has not much higher run rate (and is expected to have much higher in his role)

This game , Kallis got 22 from 21 here. Between Gibbs, Smith, Duminy and Morkel you got 26 from 34...go figure as they say.

I wonder which batsmen are not trying?
 
Yea but kallis is the main man, you expect him to get more than 22 from 21 deliveries. Any batsmen of his quality would not sit around and get 22 off 21, not a batsmen of his quality. We all knew smith was useless but being captain he plays, we all knew duminy was useless again he plays and morkel needs more a few deliveries to get going.

Just poor all round team play was kuk, from the selectors to the captain to our pathetic batting displays and bowling displays. I would have to say SA is the worse of the 8 top nations by a large margin.

The aussies have fight in them no matter what team they have, all we have is people who can watch run rates climb and doing nothing about it.

Yes he apparently is not allowed to 'fail' by only getting 22 off 21, despite having the most runs for tournament of all SA...but Morkel, whose only role is to bash the ball (remember they don't expect him to stay in otherwise he would bat lower), is allowed to tickle the ball around???
17 off the last over even, with Morkel in is right up his alley...he froze.
He got 7 off 7 balls in 19 minutes...what? was he dodging the strike too? Botha faced 8 balls in 6 minutes and scored 19

Take kallis's tournament contribution away and we would not have this argument...they would have been back home already:p
 
Lucky for you ozzie your team would rather be 60/5 with a good run rate than 50 for 1 after 10. Mindset is totally different in the 2 camps.

Sadly all those runs he scored mean nothing when we keep losing but once again kallis has nice looking stats while SA go out the tournament, so of course he looks good but the team as a whole is out due to the rest of the players being just as poor. Sadly for us when no one can hit big runs we cannot turn to kallis who is our best batsmen, very sad that we cannot turn to our best batsmen to do it for us.

Kumble is right about kallis, to slow for t20 cricket.

Anyways whatever i shall now throw my support to the west indies for the remainder of the tournament. Gayle is my fav batsmen in world cricket as well :D. He either goes big or goes home and basically holds the key to beating the west indies. Pollard is also insane.

Good grief are you still singing the same tune. The reason the Aussies are doing well is that they dont have to rely on one person. Multiple players are contributing unlike in the Proteas side
 
Rely on one person? Maybe go look at our last 2 loses, there was no one to rely on. Our problem is we have no one to rely on.

There is no shinning light in our team who can say ok i am going to win this game for SA. Aussies have that right down the order. We have no one.

I think SA is the one team who do not have a stand out batsmen and straight up match winner that you can turn to when the rest of the team is letting you down, nobody seems to want to win games.

I think it all started to go wrong when Francois du Plessis got out.

Look at the positives. :) No one on the England team has such a nice head of hair.
 
Cut the guy some slack, he's back after a serious injury and he has the weight of an entire nation's expectiations on his shoulders.
 
The whole team choked - way too confident and then pissed it away.

Goes back to my view that cricket players are amongst the dumbest of sportsmen.

So did our bowlers also choke? I thought it was a great performance in the field.

Still work to do with batting. At least it is inly one aspect to sort out. Rather now than in knock outs.

I am still confident of good results.
 
It was an odd innings by SA. Not too often you see batsman playing onto their stumps let alone twice in 1 innings (Amla, Morne). Not often you see a batsman run himself out playing a defensive stroke off his hips (Faf). Not often you see a batsman leave one alone that trims the bail (AB). Not often you see a fast bowler and number 10 batsman with the 4th highest innings total for his team (Dale). Not often 7 batsman get into double figures yet for a total score of under 170. TBO it was a f ucking horrible game from a South Africans perspective and an amazing one from an Englishman's perspective.

Kallis's lack of form is of little concern. Let him fire in the quarters, semis and final and we'll all be happy...
 
To be fair, the pitch was a joke, how can two GOOD teams barely score 300 collectively....that type of pitch should NEVER be played on especially in a world cup.

Yeah it was rubbish but you get those now and then!!! Rubbish for both teams, not sure England had a massive advantage batting 1st. Pitch was rubbish from the 1st ball to pretty much the last...
