Hi, has anybody had experience with Kawuleza uncapped? How is their service?

I have been using it since December. Download about 120-150gb per month. Mostly Netflix. I am on 4 Meg uncapped but most days its about 6Meg Speed. Local latency is low but sometimes have issues with Dota2.
I was with Amobia before I cancelled after a few months because too much downtime. I like the fact the Kawuleza Gets back to me within half hour if I have any issues. Unlike Amobia who would call the next day only to confirm if my line is working again.

We use them at my office. Wired is always better, but Kawuleza isn't bad at all.

It works...

But latency is marginally higher.

I also used them. But ADSL is better for gaming and believe it or not Telkom fixed my line, after 3 months... :p

Why would I pay R419 for uncapped 1meg when I can get wired for less and probably download a lot more?

You also still have to spend an extra R1250 for equipment and this does not have any voice calls.

Going to try the trial next month, and apparently they have a 2Mbps offering for about R550/pm. Will report back after the trial. What kind of latencies can I expect? I game a lot, so just wondering...

Any update on the trial yet, bud ?
Moving to a new place that does not cater for a Telkom line, so considering this.

I am running with them after having endless problems with my exchange. As of the end of the month I will be Telkom free!

Today the Telkom line is actually half bearable vs. this current weekend.
Here are some speedtests from the mybroadband site

Kawuleza

Test conducted on 20 May 2013 5:39:13 PM SAST
Download Speed: 3512 kbps (439 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 6370 kbps (796.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 48 ms

WebAfrica ( Please note this is not the ISP's fault, any ISP I try I get the same results , usually much worse than this )

Test conducted on 20 May 2013 5:40:25 PM SAST
Download Speed: 2313 kbps (289.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 426 kbps (53.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 67 ms

:Edit

Both are 4mb uncapped for reference

What backbone does kawuleza run through? What kind of usage threshold is there on the 4mb before they start shaping?

I take it, that you guys using it do not have DSL in your area?
Otherwise this seems pricier to me.

Or is it the upload speeds you're after?

No I have ADSL in my area. My exchange is totally congested and it's unbearably slow after hours. It's actually not that expensive if you take everything into account.

Kawuleza R897 pm all included for 4mb uncapped

ADSL
Telkom line Rental - R150
4Mb Adsl Line - R399 ( Managed by WebAfrica )
4Mb Uncapped - R339 ( WebAfrica )

R 888

So it's pretty even stevens for me.
