Would there be a difference between 2 x 4GB Ram VS 4 x 2GB Ram?

Would there be a difference between 2 x 4GB Ram VS 4 x 2GB Ram?

I would think 2x4 is better for upgrade-ability while 4x2 would be marginally better for processing.

There will be no real performance difference (if any) between 2 x 4GB and 4 x 2GB, however if you only use 2 slots (that is, 2 x 4GB) then you leave slots open for future upgrades
