Key Fob issue

BMW is high quality and Mercedes has worse quality than a GWM. You only pay for the name when buying a mercedes.
There is very little difference between a BMW driver and a minibus taxi driver. Always void of rules of the road. Always overloaded. Always playing loud music.

Same same but different.
Ah cool, thanx

Has anyone had a issue where the old battery of your car's key fob gives a low battery warning on the car's display and when you swop the battery out with a new one, it doesn't work anymore (locking/unlocking the car - car still starts). But when you put the old low battery in, it unlocks, locks and starts the car?

I looked at forums, but most say it has to be reprogrammed. Which is weird, if it is programming, why does the old battery still work?

Many say the key needs a reset and gives different ways of doing that (haven't tried disconnecting the car's battery for a few minutes yet as it requires disassembly of a few parts), but the others of starting the car a few times and using the key blade to lock and unlock doesnt seem to do the trick.

Its just beyond me that the old low battery will work but the new ones doesnt - Ive been to 10 stores which many didnt have the specific battery, the three which did were poor Pakistani shops and I blamed each and every one of them of trying to sell me old batteries. Got some at Makro and they can't be also defective? I feel so bad of opening so many batteries and then asking for refunds when its clearly the bad over priced car

I've been getting low battery warning for my cars keys for months, and it still works. Just use the old battery until it's dead, gives you some time to figure out the issue.

I'd still like to know which car? The suspense is killing me.

Have you figured out the issue?

Well you're the one with the guessing game my dude.

You ask for key fob advice & don't mention which cabbie.

I'm I in the twilight zone here?
Its a Mercedes, Hence the expensive price tag and lack of reliability.
