KFC Masala crunch

Nothing beats Chicken Lickin's hot wings. Haven't tried this yet though.

Last thing I bought at kfc was their nacho cheese burger and it was absolutely disgusting.
Don't bother CL hotwings are the best

I actually tried it this weekend. Big mistake. Never again!

It was salt, salt and some more salt with a hint of overly dry chicken.

cornstarch also works for extra lasting crunch.

Actually use it most of the time when making mock KFC at home.

The mixture is bread crumbs (Dry out my own bread sliced in the oven). Normal flour or bread flour ( bread flour is actually better due to higher gluten content), cornstarch, touch of baking powder(it is actually what helps to brown it.) Then my mix of spices.

The problem with cornstarch however is that it adds "sweetness" which you don't necessarily want, generally just need a small amount and small amount of flour.

The secret ingredient is bread crumbs with gives the ultimate crunch.

Basically would be 2 cups bread crumbs with 1/4 cup flour and 1/4 cup cornstarch.

However if you want beatching good crumbed chicken strips..........use chickpea and lentil flour with chili powder spice and a little bit of baking powder, here you use less bread crumbs and only a little flour. And here you use and eggs with a little bit coconut milk, plain yogurt with lemon juice for the dry batter........you may need to double dip for this Trust me you will pizz your pants, and never want any thing else EVER again....

Alternative is JUST chickpea flour with spices and chil, with fish or chicken strips....

The taste and crispness is a killer....

Eish... I'm overdue for my KFC Masala fix... must ask what we're doing for supper tonight....
Beat you to it.
Had mine whilst visiting family earlier, the bright lights and spicy orangy batter drew me in like a firefly ....:)

I did go a day without , yesterday...
So it's not all doom and gloom.

Just tried this... It ain't horrible but it's not great either... Bit of heat, too sweet and overly dry chicken.

Well, half like it, half don't. Not sure if I should try it.
