The winning post:
http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...and-and-FNB)?p=9649802&viewfull=1#post9649802

Sometimes I wonder what the point of having "specific" competitions on the forum has to do with anything. If we all can post one liner replies and win stuff then why should we bother to put any effort into it?

Congrats on the prize and nothing personal, but it's becoming ridiculous.

I think the point is to take part, not to be a suction. It would take ages for the MyBB team to vet every post and then it would open a new can of worms... that of opinion. People will always disagree with whoever decided on the winner. It's way better for everyone if the winner is chosen randomly (provided they stuck with the rules).

It is surprising how accurate your explanation is, despite the fact that you have very little insight into how we operate. Thanks for giving MyBroadband’s view :D

Understood uncle rpm. All it means is that I won't be making solid contributions in competitions anymore. Why should I post something worthy if a one liner post will suffice and someone wins?

I have no intent on being rude, but I just see it as a waste of time.

Wow. What did I ever do to you to make you so angry that I won something? Just be happy for me.

Yeah, there's always these kind of posts when someone wins. Sad really, it must make the winners feel a bit befuddled. Anyhoo, I hope you enjoy your prize nonetheless :)

Thanks dude. :) Now I can finally carry on with my Japanese studies. (Ordering the physical books from Jpn has a R600 delivery fee)
So, to me this is the greatest thing since slice cheese. :D

Nice one, I've had the keyboard one for a while and I love it. I'll defo replace it with the paperwhite job when it becomes available to us though. That light will make a great gadget brilliant. Enjoy :)

It's a contribution to the forum, fellow forumites "might" want to read your post and you get an entry into a competition.
Not everyone has the time to post lengthy replies as well.

Just want to point out that I'm not angry at you, I think it's great you won something - I've also won something before, so I wasn't saying anything against you - I just think that if you have a competition where you ask people to write something or answer a question then you must either point out that the winner will be chosen by random draw - so your answer doesn't actually matter, one line will do - or you must take the time to go through the answers or at least filter out those that didn't answer the question and then do a draw. Otherwise, what's the point of asking the question in the first place? But anyway, congratulations - enjoy your kindle, it really is great to have these competitions!!!!
