Kindle PaperWhite - Yes or no?

Thanx for all your contributions folks. Just to let you know that I just pulled the trigger on a Kindle Paperwhite Wi-Fi only from Amazon for R2206.66.

The things that swayed it in Amazon's favour were the novelty, the 1500 eBucks status points on foreign swipes and the support for the global village. Oh, and one of the YouTube comparisons against the Kobo Glo made the Glo look a little glare'ry and blue.

Cool man. Enjoy.

Be sure to keep an eye out for the trilogy packs...thats the one spot where I saw real savings. e.g. Bought first 5 Game of thrones books for like 300 bucks. Same for hunger games...much cheaper per book than hard copies.

Also check out the readability browser plugin & its ability to send long articles to the kind for reading (use the free.kindle.com address)

I hate to be the bearer of bad news... But you should've waited a few hours longer before buying. It's Black Friday and Amazon has the Paperwhite on special today.

If you can't get to greenstone then you can arrange for your nearest pick n pay branch to have it sent to them from greenstone/another branch..

That's lame! They still had quite a few 2 weeks ago.

In saying that, try phone around. I had to phone about 5 or 6 different Pick n Pay's before I found one that had even heard of a Kobo. Most of them don't stock the Kobo's at all..

Yeah Bismuth, but it's a real upgrade from the Keyboard. If you are already on a PaperWhite, not so much. They normally ship here late Jan/Feb after US availability.

I saw something on the Kobo site about Bargain Books and CNA as well. I didn't really find anything on the Bargain Books site but on the CNA site it looks like they stock it.
