Kindle plug-in for Calibre

there is no plug in, it just works.

what exactly are you trying to do?
 
Calibre reports that the file is DRM protected and cannot continue.
Google suggests installing the plug-in but I can't find it and am nervous (malicious virus software) about where I might find it.
 
there is no easy way to remove the Amazon DRM.

Much simpler just to download the book again without drm.

But yeah, Calibre obviously cannot read a book protected by DRM. That's the whole point.
What you can do is get the cloud reader for Amazon, that allows you to read your Kindly books on your pc.

There is a plugin, and it's very easy to use, unless Amazon has managed to have it pulled.

Search for apprentice alf.

Oh that one looks alot less dodgy than the others I have seen. I will give it a go.

It most definitely can. As BigAl pointed out, there is a plugin that removes that crappy DRM. And before anyone gets their panties wet about OMG PIERASY, it requires you to have the PC Amazon reader installed, with the book activated on your account in order to get the code to crack it.
