If they cut his Gravy and clean things up then great.
This homelands BS is a relic of apartheid.
Really ? So people are better of assimilating into an English speaking realm with English values, ethics and norms ?

The idea isn't too bad. The problem is that they had little to no independence from national government and they didn't have the economic means to be financially independent.
The people living in Orania are probably quite happy where they are

I'm on about the smugness of the Anglophone world who don't appreciate the desire for people to maintain their language and customs and a strong sense of sovereignty.

Another reason why Europe and the UK should stop absorbing refugees.
Great....
Start a thread about that then. Not sure why you are posting here.
There are no means for these "kingdoms" to be financially independent.
Except coming from whence it does, it just sounds like sour grapes.
I get the feeling that the king will not be voting for Zuma in the next election.
As they were implemented, they were designed to be entirely dependent on Pretoria. If the intent was for them to be financially independent and properly autonomous as opposed to a dumping ground, they probably would have fared as well as the rest of South Africa.
They do reasonably well in the rest of the world.Really ? Because autonomous state are so successful in the rest of Africa ? In principle I agree that they should have been completely autonomous and sovereign, but the historical entailment of South Africa is more complex than that and the unification of South Africa under the British Union of South Africa has a lot to do with it.

But then the immigrants say that their culture is being oppressed due to x, y and z.Yes, I'm all for nation states. Culture does exist and groupings of people should stay homogenous to the extent where immigrants can be assimilated into the host nation, not the overthrow of identity as the path is currently leading.
But then the immigrants say that their culture is being oppressed due to x, y and z.
Multiculturalism does work, if each culture is allowed space to develop independently. And hence we see that multiculturalism does not work. Immigrants should either assimilate to a host nation or stay in their own country of origin and develop their own culture there.

Switzerland is a pretty good example of this.
