Hi Guys and a very good morning to one and all.
I have an Android media player, running kodi 15.2.
I'm having a bit of connectivity issues ie connecting to the internet. My media player is connected to the router via Ethernet.

Just as an aside, I have no other connectivity issues from a phone or tablet. I'm only using Kodi for YouTube and to Check the weather. The response is either slow, or no connection at all.
Is there some place I can go, to enter any specific things within kodi?

I had a look at settings, under webserver it's the following:
Allow remote control via http: ticked
Port:8080
Web interface: default webinterface

Then under system
User proxy server: ticked
Proxy type:
Server: blank
Port: 8080
Username and password also blank
Anything I'm missing here?

Thanks in advance

Have you tried unticking the user proxy server?. I have used Kodi for streaming stuff aswel, found it to be laggy, sometimes very slow and as you said unresponsive. Gave up on it really because of wel you know, alot of torrent sites have shutdown so not alot of seeders left.
I was running on version 14.1 maybe try downgrading?

The webserver settings have nothing to do with your internet connection. You should not be using a proxy server for the connection though. Remove that. The OS controls the PPPOE connection, not Kodi, so make sure Android is connecting correctly from the outset. If it is but Kodi has a problem still, its in all likelihood the proxy setting you have switched on. Only opt to connect via a proxy if you're actually dialling a proxy. If you continue to have issues, make sure the Android device remains properly connected to the modem/router at all times. And ensure DNS is being properly assigned on the Android device as well. Bottom line is the OS handles this. If there's different performance between apps then it's probably your incorrect proxy settings in Kodi. Also you can check that the connection is being made and DNS correctly assigned from system>info>network. If you have an IP your router's DHCP is leasing out a connection to the device, and if the DNS is correct as per the router/ISP/DNS provider config then you can be rest assured that nothing on the OS is trying to interfere with DNS. DNS is often less of a concern on Kodi though.

Hope this helps...

Thanks DJ will have a look. :) so basically I should untick where ever it shows the proxy as being ticked?

Only the one setting for that. Under system settings, remove the proxy connection. As I said, if Android connects fine there should be no hassles other than the proxy settings.

If Android has an issue, you have to trial other ISPs and check the connection between the device and the modem router...

Thanks. Working fine now. Although loading is a bit slow, but other than that it seems okay
