Kodi/XBMC: How to increase buffer length for live video?

It depends on the addon you are using but in this case I doubt it will work as I have the same issue.

You can try increase the cache though:

it did help for some streams but none of the sports streams I used got any better.

If you look in the link in my above post there is a reference to the PVR functionality which you need if you want to rewind, pause etc but its not something I have tried yet and dont know if that might work if you pause for a minute or two before watching.
