The Gremlins have been busy again because according to CapeTalk, a crane fell over and damaged some electrical cables putting one of two units out of action.

We look set to get some load-shedding tomorrow.

i hope the pebble reactor close to Harties wont have such trouble ..

No gas, No electic = No heater
High petrol price and propably petrol shortages = No generator.

These interruptions/accidents are too many for comfort. :(
Last year around about the same date, just before the March Elections we had one of the Koeberg Units going offline because they hadn't done proper maintenance on the grid and after we had the first bit of rain the moisture tripped out the only Reactor at the time that was running (Unit 2 I believe) and Cape Town was left with only the supply from up country and one or two smaller Power Stations in the Western Cape. Acacia and Palmiet I think? Remember the Load Shedding last year.

In hindsight one can give some credit to the previous regime for having the vision/foresight in building Eskom's Infrastructure.
Imagine if they hadn't built all those Coal Power Stations and Koeberg here in the Western Cape.
We would basically be in the K@k.

Yup saw the trouble in the Cape via the telecommand, only read about it now.

Hmm. Bloody Koeberg goes up and down like a teen's behind in the back seat at a drive-in...

I heard that the power plant up rooted it's self from it's foundations and ran off down the road, it was last seen in a pub getting very drunk and was asked to leave more than once, amongst the ours in the bar were at least four or more known gremlins and two computer bugs
