Kubuntu USB Pen drive Install - cannot get past syslinux step

Hi everyone,

I'm following this tutorial:
http://www.pendrivelinux.com/2008/05/15/usb-kubuntu-804-persistent-install-via-the-live-cd/

to install Kubuntu 8.0.4.1 from the Live CD onto my 2GB flash drive.

I got up to step 12 but when I type in sudo apt-get install syslinux mtools, it says:

"Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Couldn't find package syslinux"



I ran adept but couldn't find syslinux listed.

help please
