Just an update.Vuma will be in area 1 to take pictures from 5-15 dec.Area 1 is currently on 21%

Since Vumatel is currently busy in Brackenfell it just makes sense for them to move onto Kuilsrivier next after they are done, however they will only do it if there's enough interest.

What I did for 2 weeks just before we got approval was take a tablet each evening and knock on the doors and sign people up there and then. I'd ask them some basic info around their internet usage and then tell them about FTTH and then sign them up on the vuma site there and then with their info. Also made it clear that showing interest was not a commitment to have to take out a package once the area is enabled.

I probably got around 200 houses signed up during a 2 week period so it was really effective as a final push.

Awesome. Things seem to be finally picking up. I have some other related news.

A family member of mine works at Mikro Primary school and they have also been approached by Vumatel during the past week. Vuma wants to install free fibre for the school and gave an estimated date of July 2018.

This really seems to be a serious progression at the moment and you'll probably be seeing me by your doorsteps very soon:)

Mikro Primary is interested in becoming a POP for Vumatel

I've shared this thread with a colleague of mine in EMS - he lives in KR and wants Fibre, so hopefully he gets involved and shows "interest"

Brackenfell North, more specifically the Ferndale and Bracken Heights areas.

Vumatel is busy rolling out fibre in the whole Brackenfell North area, aiming to be done by end of Feb. Protea Height is also getting fibre, they have their townhall meeting on the 12th of December

Oh wow! I wasn't aware of this. Thanks for the continued help/support with pushing this project.

I will be updating the first/main page of this thread so everyone can quickly see what's going on :)

I have updated the first post and I will be updating whenever new/big events occur (with the dates)

Area 1 is currently on 23% 374 to go.Mabillepark which is not on the map is on 5-6% the last time i checked

Just a quick update!

I have edited the main page to reflect the newest info. I have also started walking door to door again to encourage people to sign up.
Currently our area (Amandelrug/Rouxville/Amandelsig) is just about to reach the 30% mark. We still need 313 currently, but it's been gaining traction. Last week it was still at 24%
