KZN Getaway Recommendations

Three Tree Hill is nice but out of budget but I think meals are included.

We stayed in the Burchells one, private pool and everything.

Yeah, I don't know how people afford holidays anymore. The places below R1 500 a night for two seems in desperate need of help and the decor looks a 100 years old.

R40 000 for 4 night. Churchill is R50 000Eina! I can go to New Zealand for that price. Looks stunning though, but they cater for foreigners and rich Durbanites. :p

Drakensburg? I'm sure you can get an Airbnb within driving distance. The resorts in walking distance to the mountains are mostly priced for overseas tourists now.

Most Airbnbs I don't find relaxing. It's okay if I need to stay over somewhere, but not for a holiday. But maybe their is a hidden gem somewhere , I'll continue to look.

Come to Chatsworth in Durban. Plenty of good cheap AirBNB's.

There's one place that charges R400 per night. It includes 3 meals some drinks/drugs plus a comfort person for the night.

Yeah, not just SA, Africa seems more expensive to travel around than first world nations when you factor in everything together like having to pay for tours, transport (either car hire or driver) etc.

I was fortunate, gifted it for a weekend as a bonus/reward and I it all cost less as friends of owners and company links etc etc. Great experience though but yes, far more catered to the foreign crowd.

Lake Naverones more expensive cousin vibe.

Yeah, these places are expensive. Nothing us South Africans can afford
Just up the road from Lake Navarone there is a Cottage for R900
