La Lucia Congestion

How long did they take to "fix" yours after you tweeted them the first time? They keep telling me they are waiting for progress reports on when the congestion will be sorted. If they tell me end of year i'll tell them to shove it, i'm not paying for another 6 months of this.

Perhaps there is light at the end of the tunnel. I got this reply from Telkom on Twitter:

"@TheJasonDewey As indicated in previous post, congestion relief is scheduled for completion end July. Will monitor progress. ^RI"

So hopefully in the next month or so we should be back to normal. Holding thumbs.

I had a similar reply this morning:
Morning, congestion relief for the La Lucia area is projected for end of July. Will monitor progress and update closer to the time.^CO

Oddly enough, without me reporting a fault, I had a techie arrive at my house today to check on the line (No scam, Telkom van and all)...

Yea was told the same thing. End of july. I asked them if there is no temporary solution and he said not until the congestion is fixed. So then how did others get there's sorted? I guess that's another month we must pay for non existant service.

Given that Telkom say that the congestion will be relieved at the end of July & the Telkom techie told me that the MSAN's have already been installed - Do you think we might be one of those locations that will enjoy the 'cut-over' next month? (Going by today's MyBB news articles)

These ****s need to hurry the **** up and switch these ****ing msans or whatever the **** it is they waiting till the end of july for. I want to ****ing relax and get some game time in on a friday night after a long ****ing week and this ****ing ping is 1000+ /drunk rant over

FAT BAZ!

We can drown our sorrows.

On a brighter note, my girlfriend doesn't seem to be suffering from congestion anymore. She lives in Glen ANil (Also 572).

So it appears they are SLOWLY sorting it out. It'd just better be done by the end of July.

I was told our area would be cut over to ME on the 19th July 2013.....

I was also told because my lines are less than 400 meters (384 meters) to be exact I will be bumped up to 10mbps after the cut over....

It seems Telkom are promising a lot of cut overs this month...

I am in Richmond KZN....

Saw the techie working on the MSAN again yesterday at The Rock church.

Man, I hope they swop us over soon.

Another thing, how accurate is the broadbandstats.co.za exchange locator? I live about 200 meters away from Glenashley Junior Primary and the exchange locator tells me I'm on the Durban North exchange?

One of my numbers is 031-562 but yeah, no idea if it will be swopped over anytime soon.

Mine also says Durban North exchange 031572. Don't think it's accurate. Durban North were the first to get MSANS so surely if we were on it we wouldn't have this bull****.

i think la lucia is supposeed to be switched over to msan by the end of this month. we can only hope!

If it's still ****ed on the 1st of august there's going to be some lovely language from me on twitter.

Are you guys now also experiencing rubbish latency during the day too?

I now find that the only time my latency is any good is between 1:30 AM and around 07:00 AM.

****.

*crosses fingers that TelkomZA will read this thread and speed up the process*

So today a telkom technician came to fix our phone line, we knew nothing about this as we hadn't logged a fault, so i have no idea what they fixed, even though they said they fixed it. Since 6pm my ping has been pretty decent. Anybody else seeing better performance?

Some good things will come to people this week and next week. Unfortunately I am not in that group.
