ABT’s Lamborghini Urus ‘Scatenato’ is an 800bhp modified SUV
German tuner ‘unleashes’ monster SUV limited to just 99 units
German tunifications company ABT has cast its wizened gaze upon Lamborghini’s Urus SUV and bestowed it with yet more power, torque, and body. Well, what else were they going to do, turn it into a sensible, comfortable MPV?
Behold, then, the ABT Urus Scatenato. Not a reference to beloved musician Scatman John, sadly, but to the Italian meaning of ‘unleashed’, or indeed ‘wild’. And to that name comes the unsurprising power hike.
The Urus’s biturbo V8 maxes out at 657bhp in the factory-spec ‘Performante’ edition, a hurdle ABT’s Scatenato vaults with relative ease. The German tuner has fitted its own specially modified turbochargers and intercooler, along with – one suspects – an ECU tweak to produce heady totals of 800bhp and 627lb ft of torque.
There’s a better power-to-weight ratio of course, back up by a suite of exterior and interior modifications. Things like carbon fibre components dotted around the car, a new front spoiler and rear wing, a new rear skirt, flared arches, 23in ABT alloys and a new exhaust system measuring 105mm in diameter and possessed of four tailpipes.

The days of the non-electrified Lamborghini Urus will be coming to an end in the not-so-distant future so the folks at ABT Sportsline decided to offer a limited tuning kit for the SUV and called it the Scatenato.
Limited to 99 units, the Urus Scatenato receives a rather healthy power upgrade resulting in a potent 799 hp (596 kW). This was achieved thanks to the ABT Power R package which includes upgraded turbochargers and intercoolers.
While this is not the first Urus tuned by ABT, it is definitely the most extreme due to the extensive visual and performance modifications. If you are wondering about the weird-sounding name, Scatenato is the Italian word for unleashed, raging, or wild, so it has nothing to do with your bowel movements.
One of the exterior highlights has to be those glossy black 23-inch forged wheels but we cannot miss the overload of carbon fibre bits and pieces giving the SUV an even more commanding presence.

If you’re going to get nicked, you may as well be seen getting ushered into the back of a Lamborghini right? The Italians agree (sort of), which is why a Urus Performante will join its fleet of blues and twos in 2024 as an ‘organ transport and special services’ vehicle. So while it may not do the rounds in Police Interceptors, its role will be invaluable in saving lives.
On the outside, a blue and white police livery has been plastered and paired with black accents and glossy black alloys. Reflective ‘Polizia’ logos have also been used across the doors, while a blue LED light bar takes its universal place atop the roof alongside a two-tone electric siren.
The cabin has, expectedly, seen the biggest makeover. While the actual driver display and centre console remain close to standard, the rear portion of the car has been fitted with a utility box full of… many things. A flip-down message display and a section for stowing service equipment have also been added, as has a defibrillator for first aid response, making this Urus more Optimus Prime than Megatron.
The engine remains untouched, so the twin-turbocharged V8 still sends 657bhp and 627lb ft of torque to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Though the original car weighed around 2,150kg, and the modifications would no doubt have increased this number by some amount, we think the output should still be plentiful.

Lamborghini Urus Performante Polizia
The successful twenty-year collaboration between Automobili Lamborghini and the Italian "Polizia di Stato" continues. This time, the Sant'Agata Bolognese carmaker has delivered a Urus Performante to the Italian Highway Police, which will enter into service in 2024. The ceremony took place in Rome in Piazza del Viminale, outside the Ministry of the Interior headquarters. Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, handed over the keys to the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, in the presence of Head of Police, Vittorio Pisani.
The collaboration between Automobili Lamborghini and the Italian State Police started in 2004, and the Urus Performante is the sixth model to enter into the Highway Police fleet. The Super SUV joins the Huracán LP610-4, and will be used for special services including the urgent medical transport of organs and plasma.
"It is with great pleasure that we are continuing our twenty-year co-operation with the Italian State Police," commented Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. "Knowing that our cars are used for public duties and, above all, for crucial operations to save human lives, can only make me and the whole company proud. Novitec continues its fine form with Lambo’s biggest bull. Gives it massive power and a new ‘Esteso’ widebody kit
In a typically civilised manner, Bavarian tuning house Novitec has waved its wand of lunacy at the Lamborghini Urus Performante to create an even more powerful variant of the bonkers SUV. Expecto Patronum, indeed.
External modifications include all-new ‘Y-spoke’ 23-inch Vossen wheels, which automatically make the Urus more king-sized than a double bed, and a suite of carbon bolt-ons applied at both ends, across the arches and to the side mirrors. A full or partial carbon bonnet design and carbon rear wing provide further pantomime to the so-called ‘Esteso’ body kit, while the chunkier hips are unmistakably Novitec, and add 10cm of width at the front axle and 12cm at the rear.
Sticking with the dimensions, new sports springs lower the overall height by 2.5cm, while the side sills contribute to the lower, wider stance. Novitec says some of these changes have been made to reduce lift at higher speeds, but they’re fooling nobody. These technicalities come second to the primary goal it always has in its sights: make a car look as audacious as possible. It has Pope Francis written all over it.
