Lance refused entry into SA

This happened to us recently with another international guest we bought down to SA. They wouldn't let him fly out of Zurich. Please note the 2 free pages rule is actually quite rare! Most countries will take 1 page free. Watch loads of people get sent back to their country of origin in June.

Why are we still using paper-based passports? Just implant a chip in everybodies skull and use that as a passport, no need for a stupid stamp.

That is the big deal about the stamp in any case, are you a security risk if you do not get the stamp?

lol, this aint the US were a celeb can walk through easily, you're treated as a commoner

The rule makes sense for a visa, but for a stupid stamp which have no purpose at all?

Entry and Exit stamps. It's been done like that since passports came out. It's done that way everywhere. The US also has such rules.

This guy (celeb) is just being arrogant. Ignore him.

Hey at leash he wasn't fingerprinted and interrogated.

Just because it has been done like this since passports came out does not mean it make sence. In the olden days they did not monitor people electronicly so maybe it made sence then, but today?

This is a common requirement for every country I've ever been to. Lance has nothing to complain about.

Are you debating? because you're making no sense.

Yes.

People who slink through customs without getting their passport stamped are either a) terrorists or b) Europeans unused to all this bureaucracy. There is NO middle ground.

Lance Armstrong is like many Americans, arrogant and pig headed. The passport entry stamp is part of traveling abroad, it's done at most entry points to countries around the world. Just because you're a big deal in America and Europe, pal, doesn't mean you can expect to be treated like "Gods gift" here. And I guarantee you, If you are going to travel to other countries with a full passport you are going to get the same treatment. Friendly welcomes are for people that are welcome, and if you act like an arrogant moron like Ive seen some people act, well, you wont be.

That stamp is proof you're not in the country illegally.

It's a precaution, we've got one of the smaller entry/exit stamps.

What do you mean precaution... Precaution for what? Its one, you need 1/8th of a passport page. Stamp and go, done.
