edit : Andy just called me to apologise. Offered to swap out the wrong one for the right one, which would arrive in about 2 weeks. Along with a discount off my next order... meh... bad taste in my mouth regardless

I thought it was a joke. The link takes me to thermal paste and he is talking i5 and i7.
Either way if the company offered to correct their mistake (whatever it may have been) I would thank them.

EDIT - Just realized he compared getting the wrong product to possibly getting the wrong CPU had he ordered that. I doubt they would make that mistake. But mixing up UV red with Blood red could happen.

Ahh I can imagine techhead. It is not nice to have that experience. But look at it from the perspective of the owner of Landmark (I am not affiliated to them in any way). A person expresses his bad service with your company to a forum on the internet after you have offered to correct your mistake. There isn't much more you can do and your company gets a bad rep. Not good hey? But if the guy came on here and shared how you resolved your error and thanks you, you will feel good.

We all wanna feel good, it's Friday! :D

First World Problems..

Aye.

Can understand the bad taste in anticipation of a new toy and stuff. Of course an instant call and sweet proposal is commendable in this day, so next time perhaps keep your business with them and specify to "make sure it's the damn correct one". :)

I posted before he called me, and then made the edit after he spoke to me. I think Im just the kind of person who isnt happy with that kind of thing, when it comes to service. Im not picky and a difficult person, but when it comes to service (ie. im paying for something) then I can (and most probably will) be a nightmare if that level of service isnt delivered.

Ask Pinky's office... (telkom) they know me well now :)

Yes I respect that a mistake was made, and that he attempted to rectify the situation. I get that. But a simple check would have revealed the wrong item was picked from stock. No bag with the goodies in, no invoice attached... nothing, just three loose items in my hand.

yay friday :D

Nah, you're right. You ordered one thing and received another. It's not your prerogative to check up on your order daily to make sure that they send you the correct item. What would be the point of convenience otherwise?

Don't feel bad, I'd be annoyed too. Mistakes happen and at least they tried to make up for it (this is the important thing).

I am exactly like you when it comes to paying for something. :) Sorry I didnt see that you edited your post after he called you. That does sound like a bit of a bummer man. Next time they will know to check you packages before posting :D
Have a good weekend

hahaha they way i see it he was saving you! You don't really want to be putting additives in your water loop, rather have pure distilled water and a killcoil with your desired color tubing.

Service is the way a company handles a mistake that they have made. It sounds like their service was just fine. Try calling Telkom when your line is down sometime.

Actually, service is the assistance a client is given both before and after a sale. It applies to correcting a mistake, resolving a dispute, finding a product, more information on a product and the ability to provide you with the product you asked and/or paid for correctly and in a timely manner.

"Service" is a multifaceted noun :D

And Telkom fails in every regard.

Wait. I'm actually going to ask you this first:

Did you call Andy and say to him that they had ordered the wrong one? Did Andy say "Lulz sorry man you're just going to have to live with it?" and only after you posted did he decide to change his tune?

Or did you just decide to bad mouth them because they made a very simple mistake? Then Andy has to dig into his pocket to save the rep of his company?

If it's the latter option you are just being a chop.

Also, your analogy of comparing an i5 to an i7 is a bloody poor one, as the prices and purpose of the product is exactly the same unlike an i5 vs an i7 which differs in price, speed, features, etc etc. The only slight difference is the colour.

As long as they fix the error @ their expense - I don't see the problem....

If the same thing happened repeatedly...then there's a problem.

Oh yes, brilliant. Attack the customer for paying for an order and receiving the wrong one and being frustrated about it. And not only that, but being forced to wait a further two weeks. Well done.
