@lantic R59 uncapped 'bolt-on' feedback

That's good to hear. I remember the dark times when every night MyBroadband would just not load using Vox accounts. Must have been an intermittent issue for like 4 - 5 months.

I remember this too, Happened to me between Jan and March/April this year. Sorted itself out although it happened again one night last week.

So apparently Vox's marketing sucks but somehow that's the evil abusers' fault. How dare the evil abusers use the 100GB that they paid for! Outrageous!

Hoo boy, we're back to this again...

My car can rev to 10000rpm (not a real number) in every gear except 5th - guess what would happen if I redlined it every single time I drove? Yeah, it would soon break

Outrageous, I paid for a car that can be redlined, how dare it break

Eish...

The abusers (sorry, paying entitled customers  ) will wreck your network

They did it to MWeb
They did it to Afrihost
They did it to Axxess
They did it to Plugg
They'd do it to CrystalWeb if they could

They will do it to every ISP they join because they don't care about anyone else - they only care about their own ability to download the interwebz as fast as they can and as often they can for as cheap a price as they can, and to hell with it if the thing breaks - they'll just move on.

So yes, I can understand existing customers wanting to keep the hogs away.

I continue to refer Vox to professional and personal contacts since I would like Vox to go from strength to strength - however, I know a couple of 'hogs' and I keep telling them how badly the network performs* :D

*When they ask why I stick with an ISP that performs so badly, I tell them it's not that bad, but for their purposes it would suck

Someone should honestly create a school for analogies, recent examples I've seen are so, so bad. Which car manufacturer markets their car as redline-able all the time? All the cars I've ever bought explicitly stated in the manual that you should limit redlining as far as possible.

Calling people that use their 100GB that they paid for "hogs" is silly. So how many of those 100GB should they use? Is it % based? Tell us your capped usage patterns so that we can ascertain this mysterious unknown magic capped data ratio.

And do you not see that it's the marketing of the product that is flawed then? Why call it a 100GB if you're not supposed to download 100GB? To mislead people? So who are the greedy ones? The users that bought a product because the marketing said it suited their needs or the company that threw ethics out the window for a sale?

The people that abused Afrihost are people on cheap uncapped accounts using upward of 600GB every month, we are talking here about a 100GB capped account, which isn't enough data to satisfy any of the abusers, how dare I pay for 1L of Coke and drink all of it.

Your car analogy might work if we were talking about uncapped, the abusers can jump on Vox uncapped as much as they want, Vox fatpipe and Vox uncapped run on separate networks.

yea, no.

You clearly do not understand breakages at all and how an ISP works.

Please take this to the fat-pipe thread, this is for uncapped.

Afrihost isn't messed due to abusers it's just the mtn network is crap. Not even their hosting is tops I see people moaning of 1 week downtimes that cant be the abusers fault.
Afrihost should never have left IS

you realise no one is stopping you from using your 100GB allocation, right?
just don't expect _more_ than your allocation.

Single line. Single account.

What sorcery is this?
