Ok, excuse my ignorance here, but I can't seem to find the proper information anywhere and I have tried.

I have a laptop.
I stay in a flat in Stellenbosch in the week and weekends I'm in Cape Town.
I want to have internet access when I am in my flat in Stellenbosch (I have ADSL in CT).

I was thinking of getting a 3G datacard for my laptop, but I was waiting for MTN to bring it out (all our family contracts are with MTN, something makes me think that it would be easier to sign up with MTN than Vodacom.. am i right? i don't really know).

So what I want is that little card that plugs into my laptop giving me "super fast data speeds" and whatever else i can imagine. I've browsed around MTN's site, but I can't find any details on this, there are hints to Laptop connectivity here and there, but there is no specific site that says: Click here to connect your laptop to the internet with 3G.

I don't want to use my phone for video calls and I am happy enough at the moment with my current handset, but this is all that i think MTN offers me. There are Data rates, but only in 100 MB and 1GB packages (come on!), but nothing tells me that I can use that from my laptop. I don't want to connect through my cellphone (for some reason it's a hassle to connect a P910i modem with bluetooth), I want to insert the little red card (or yellow card..?) and then it must work. No technical stuff, no hassles, it must just work.

Can anyone show me the light?

Check out the MyCall Extend contract on the mtnsp site:

The Sunday press had this contract available with a 3G card for your notebook - Novatel U630. So bolt on a 100Mb or 1Gb (only options I know :( ) data bundle and you're A for Away. Only problem for me is the Novatel card doesn't support EDGE, so make sure Stellies has 3G before taking the leap.....

Well im in Stellenbosch too, and on Vodacom, i receive Voda 3G fine, and i can use the card to search other networks as well [MTN/Cell-C] and all i find is Cell-C GPRS and MTN GPRS. No other 3G networks, so make sure MTN got 3G here.
