Hi there. My friend is looking for the best laptop he can possibly get for about 5.5k. Any advice in this regard would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The Samsung R519 is very popular, and a very good notebook. Never though I would be recommending a Samsung over an HP :D

Yeah that sounds like a pretty good deal. Plus it comes pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Premium.

With the change, I'd get a [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Cordless-Laser-Mouse-Notebooks/dp/B000TKHBDK"]Logitech Cordless Nano Laser Notebook Mouse [/ame]to go with it. Definitely worth it!

I'd steer clear of HP, their support locally sucks proverbial donkey doodahs.

I'd try and see if a core2duo processor version would fit the budget.

Very nice. HDMI + ESATA + Webcam + 4GB RAM + 64 bit Windows 7. Is it a dual core?

It is dual core - confirmed on packaging and on Intel spec sheet.

Running HP in the office as well, service to date has been fine with 24-48-hour turn-around.
