My lappy i more or less 5 years old now, fujitsu siemens one. The cpu fan is starting to be noisy. Can I open the chassis and spray some oil lubricant on it? Wont go overboard, just a bit to see if the noisy stop? Or is it possible to replace it?

1 drop 3 in 1.
Be carefull for crc, it get sticky when cold, and toooo much collects all the dust in your house.

use a blower to clean the dust out first.

Then try lub.

You might need to replace fan. What's the model number of lappie?

Hi, its a Fujutsusiemans amilo L. Is such a fan available as a spare part, and where?

@jacqvt my 2006 dell latitude also had a noisy fan until i used this as a checklist to determine the problem if it doesn't need replacement......

Thanks, will dl some of those programs, did not know its possible to adjust that stuff, and to monitor the temperature. Thanks.

To not just blow all the dust back inside the laptop you need to open it up to clean it.
If this link is similar to your laptop (same a you posted) it doesn't look too hard a job as you only need to get as far as the 1st photo on page 2.

Googles translate tools are here so you can read it in English - http://translate.google.com/translate_tools

This is what you need to clean here - if its blocked up the fan can't get air thru it to cool things and will keep running.

So I gave it a try, cleaned everything inside, which wasn't very dirty, didn't use any oil, was afraid it would cause more dirt to build up inside, but still the fane makes a noise. But do you guys think I can source a fan here in Pietersburg? No where. So where do you guys think can I get it online? It's a FujitsuSiemens Amilo L1310G.

Can find out pricing in the morning if you want me to help.

Otherwise your best bet would be bigger PC stores/repair centres. Then online.

Send me a PM if you'd like me to help.

It's not big/heavy even in packaging so courrier should not cost to much
