Yip, but the thing about the y560p is that according to the reviews, the bloatware that it comes with is massive and plus the trackpad is very unfinger friendly, meaning your finger cant slide properly. The y570 however has a much smoother trackpad since they've sorted that out and and bloatware is much less. Plus I if you looking to game with the laptop I dont trust ati mobility graphics, since there are tons of people complaining of driver issues and games not working/freezing while playing. About the warranty, I'm sure you could extend it if there is an option.
 
The Gigabyte Q2532.

The RAM (2 x 2GB) performs better than 1 x 4GB RAM.

Also it has more HDD Space, the graphics are fine, i trust nVidia with my graphics.
 
The Dell mainly for the ATI "card" Nvidia's in my experience don't last long, and its not like you can replace it when it does eventually bomb out
 
Hopefully this is the right place to ask this question.

I have always worked on a big desk PC at home and at work. I am now off to Cape Town on holiday and was thinking about buying a relatively cheap notebook or second hand laptop and using it there.

Will I be able to set it up so that I can download emails, without them all being siphoned away from my home PC? I do that on my Blackberry at the moment, but don't know if it can be set up for two computers.

I presume I will have to get another Office setup as well?

If anyone could guide me in the right direction, I would be pleased.

I know you were :p.

I have no problem with them as i will only be using it in dimly lit rooms. I don't plan on using them while frolicking through the fields with the sun belting down on me causing the screen to reflect the light into my eyes and blind me for life!

What is your budget more or less? How big a screen do you want in the 13-17" range?

I'm sure we can find you something from the likes of Asus, Dell, HP & Lenovo.

Budget is as little as possible!!:p

I've been looking at the Game specials, and R3999 seems to get you up and running?

Now I know how the guys feel who ask silly questions about new cars for themselves in the motoring section!! ;) :o

I didn't even know that screen size was important...:o

Basically I will be doing a great deal of photography in the Cape, so want to be able to upload from my camera to the computer, plus play around with Photoshop. Plus, obviously retrieve mail and so on whilst I'm away.

The IT guy here at work suggested that I go the tablet route, but I'm really not into touch screen - I hate it.

So there you have it just a pretty basic laptop with enough power to do what I was talking about....
