Is that for the Samsung? Can you post the specs here. If it's the same one I saw then you can do better as that is older technology.

Screen size affects the price, portability & your comfort levels.

Also go have a look at the Makro website.

You can get one of these for about R5k, Makro might even have it cheaper:

I was very keen on getting the Mecer, but grabbed the Gigabyte while it was on special.

Yip. I was settled on the i7, but at 5500 i might've bought the i5.

Anyway managed to get a good deal through a guy i know who's a reseller.

Just got my W170HN

Impressed with the look and build quality. Expected less from Mecer. Is by no means a high end feel, kinda like a Japanese car vs. a German one.

Also very well thought out port placement + Side vent which i like.

My only gripe (a small one) is that the tilt is 130°. Not that on my current Asus i use the 180.

Glad i went for the 17".
