Laptop very slow. Please help???

defrag ???
does this involve taking it apart?

Nope, over time the files on a Windows system become fragmented. This means that a singled file may well be spread over a vast area of the disk surface. This fragmentation means that it takes longer to read the entire file as the disk "needle" needs to travel over a greater area to read it all.

Defrag is a built in utility that allows you to defragment the drive. You should find it in the start menu under All programs>Accesories>System tools>Disk defragmenter... while there perhaps do a disk cleanup prior to doing the defrag.

The defrag may take a while if your system is very fragmented.
