my daughter are going to graphic design.
they said she can buy a laptop [windows] with a good graphic card.
How will I know the thing got a good graphic card?
[[must I ask the game salesmen]]

they said, intel duo core 2,4 ; 2gig ram minimum, and thenthe card.

Also they are going to tackle adobe CS4.

The 1st question here is...

Budget.

Just how much are you ableto spend on this laptop... ?

From this we can then suggest what to begin looking at....

Just make sure it's not got Intel graphics. You want ati or nvidia graphics.

Buy something that says "Dedicated Graphics", either ATI or Nvidia.

Say max budget is R10 000

what is the difference between aser and asus.

and what about mr dell.
I see some shops only sell certain makes.

Acer and Asus are on par, along with Gigabyte and Samsung.
Dell, HP and Lenovo are good for business use, but too pricy for the casual user.
Mac and Sony are awesome but very expensive.

Of course, most companies have a range across the casual, business and high end users....
