Thinking of setting up a relatively large WiFi network covering approximately 1 square kilometer.
What would be the most cost effective setup using extenders, boosters, multiple modems?

Would adsl work, or should I rather consider a sattelite service such as what Vox offers.

Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks in advance

First off who would connect to this network? What data will you move over it (eg. internet?) Location (Residential, Complex, Farm etc?)

Wi-Fi is an Access Medium, ADSL also, so they are technically two different things.

Also if you plan to sell internet you will require licensing from ICASA. Also license to cross public roads.

I'm thinking WiFi as the access medium and ADSL for the connectivity. How do I get the coverage needed to serve everyone in a housing complex?

What ADSL speed/quality is available in the area? Why would they want to sign up to use WiFi if they can get their own ADSL? Surely you'll need to make money too...

Wireless depends on the type of setup and budget?
