Laser printer toner as expensive as new printer?

I got a Epson Stylus Photo R200 printer and the printer is not printing anymore and I think that I must replace the printhead but the printhead costs the same as a new printer and there are new models and faster models out now.

Some places also sell the 6x bundle cartridges for the same price as the printer.
 
Try to get the toner cartridge refilled, i got the ml1710, costs R200 @ honeys in vangate mall.
I do think the original will be of better quality though, but not by much cos its toner after all.

If the refills are the same as the CLP-300/350 then Cyberdyne sells the generic ones for R300-R350
 
Ja, recently bought a brand new laser printer for the wife.

Compared the prices of a toner cartridge and a printer as well... what I'll do is to buy one new cartridge, send the original in for a refill and keep as a spare standby.

Quite sickening, really.

And I'm not impressed with the all-in-one jobbies... prefer to keep the printer and scanner separate, for the reason being that should the scanner or printer pack up on such an all-in-one, it's going to be more expensive than just replacing a standalone scanner/printer.
 
Don't know if it's on all their toners but for my specific HP toner (Q2612A) it seems Digital Planet has the best price around. They are between R100 - R300 cheaper than other online places and even retail shops.

Guess it's time I give their service a try again...
 
the samsungs are easy to fill... some are chipped, but remember with most carts the waste has to be cleaned
 
Stupid Expensive toner..... Had to spend almost 9 grand just to replace 4 cartridges on HP MFP M479....... The yield is only 2500 pages....

Just nuts........ :rolleyes:
